My lab test results are out


On Monday night (25th February) I put myself through some gruelling exercise tests: Lactate, ventilatory capacity, max power and max heart rate. I was a little surprised that I had no warm up nor a fan to cool me down, but I'm not sure that would've made much difference. In total I tested for 30 minutes. My heart rate averaged 174 and maxed out at 196

The ramp test:
  • Time to exhaustion: 10:00
  • Peak power: 455 watts
  • VO2max: 65.8 (ml/kg/min)
  • Max heart rate: 196 bpm
  • Lactate turn-point: 179 bpm / 350 watts
So, as you can see the results aren't great but at least I know where I am and can now start training with more accuracy.
